For some reason, some consoles cannot get a proper grip on some (recordable) discs.Īrticle: New PlayStation Store Content Update 131669/1 User: STLcardsWS (04-30-2015, 04:03 PM) You can view the page at 131669/2 User: TheShadowRunner (04-30-2015, 09:50 PM) ZoE 1 + 2 cost less than HD collection, gj sony lol 131669/3 User: Zangetsu21 (05-08-2015, 08:59 PM) What would cause an intermittent reading issue? Thanks for any help! 131668/2 User: SP193 (05-02-2015, 06:07 AM) If your console is a fat console and it's a loud, scrapping noise that it makes, you could try adding tape to the inner (the transparent region) part of the disc to make it thicker. I burnt the disc using alcohol 120% and verbatim cd-r which is what I used in the past and never had issues. Sometimes it plays if I reset often enough, sometimes it flat out says it can't read it, sometimes it gets passed the ps2 loading screen, begins to load the game then just stops at a black screen. When I try to play the backup the PS2 makes odd noises and has difficulty reading the disc. My ps2 is modded with matrix infinity chip. I recently downloaded and backed up a copy of a game and perhaps I am missing something in the process since it has been a while.

Need advice, psx backup intermittent issues on modded ps2 131668/1 User: Mechanized (04-30-2015, 10:47 AM) I made a few back ups of my psx and ps2 games years ago and those copies have no issues. Or wait for v0.9.3, whenever it is released (but don't hold your breath because there's no fixed release date anymore). With this configuration I'm able to change the PS2 IP address. what can I do about it?ĭuarte 131667/2 User: dcordeiro (04-30-2015, 10:15 AM) Replying my own message:Ĭircunvented the problem by launching OPL + GSM. And if they're not supposed to be read only.

It just allows me to select the ethernet speed and duplex settings and the PC network/share settings.Ī stupid question for sure, but if they're *read only*, where do i change them. While trying to configure network settings I'm not able to select the PS2 ip or gateway. Installed FHDB to my HDD, using FHDB 1_93_img from the official thread. I've searched around, but haven't seen any post about this, so here it goes:

Moreover considering that personal data collection is a big thing being monetized nowadays, it would be naive to think that the gaming industry (at least part of it) aren't collecting as much of it as they can as long as it is legally sound to do so.2 days ago i have updated far cry 4 to 1.07 When a game maker reports a user to Sony for a ban request, do they pass on the mac address? I cannot say, it's possible & in any case I don't think it's being paranoid to assume for instance that game makers whose game servers get frequent abuse (but maybe many others as well) may collect this kind of personal data, especially if the PSN T&C does not strictly forbid it. That includes the console's mac address of course among many other things.

Games have full access to userland & syscalls, in theory a game can send any of the data available from userland to a game server. We know some things for sure, those have been addressed with psnpatch & sen enabler, but much is still hypothetical, doubts remain.Īnd of course, there is also the issue of games & online gaming services. One would need to monitor & debug the whole process, probably reverse engineer part of it too, in order to get an idea of what data is collected & transmitted. Now do they really bother? I have no idea. In theory they could collect the ps3 mac address easily through code then send it as data rather than rely on the comm exchange. The problem being that even if you are not exposing your ps3 mac address directly, we don't really know what data Sony psn servers collect by querying the ps3 OS psn interface. He explained to you that your ps3 mac address isn't seen by Sony (or anyone else outside your local private network) if your ps3 is assigned a private IP address by a router using NAT because it is the router's mac address that is used in communication exchanges.Īnd he concluded that spoofing the mac address to hide it in comms would only make sense if your console was directly assigned a public IP (an IP accessible from a public network ie the Internet). Nothing has changed, the situation is identical to what it was on ps3 launch. Click to expand. He did not say it was no longer the case.
